General-Purpose Robotic Manipulation Supporting Cross-Embodiment Task Execution
Date:
I was honored to give a talk at the Breakout Talks Day 1 of Embodied Intelligence 2026 (EI 2026) on “General-Purpose Robotic Manipulation Supporting Cross-Embodiment Task Execution”. In this talk, I presented our recent research on developing a general-purpose robotic manipulation framework that enables cross-embodiment task execution. The talk covered the motivation behind our work, the key challenges in achieving general-purpose manipulation, and the innovative approaches we have developed to address these challenges. I also shared some of our experimental results demonstrating the effectiveness of our framework in various manipulation tasks across different robotic platforms. The talk concluded with a discussion on the safety considerations when interacting with objects, and the future directions.
